BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The city of Bismarck has named a Colorado company as the new operator of a publicly funded industrial park and shipping facility that has been losing money.
The City Commission approved a lease with an option to buy for Tubular Transport & Logistics of Rifle, Colo. The company plans to supply construction material to North Dakota's oil patch.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that City Attorney Charlie Whitman would not disclose the lease amount and contract length, saying they are still being finalized.
The Northern Plains Commerce Centre, completed in 2008, was designed to handle Bobcat Co.'s overseas shipments of freight containers. Bobcat closed its manufacturing plant in Bismarck in 2009.
