Stewart Enterprises splits operations

JEFFERSON, La. (AP) — Funeral provider Stewart Enterprises Inc. is dividing its operations into eastern and western divisions.

Jefferson-based Stewart said Wednesday that the move is designed to better integrate its operations and sales activities.

Kenneth G. Myers Jr. has been named executive vice president of operations and sales. He's been working as the company's senior vice president of operations.

G. Kenneth Stephens Jr. has been appointed senior vice president for the eastern division. He's been the company's senior vice president of sales.

Michael H. Miller has been appointed senior vice president for the western division. He's been Stewart's regional vice president for California, Oregon and Washington.

Stewart owns and operates 218 funeral homes and 141 cemeteries in the United States and Puerto Rico.
