TORONTO - Centamin Egypt Limited (TSX:CEE), a Toronto-based gold miner operating in the Middle East, says its CEO Harry Michael has died.
The company gave no reason in a statement Thursday for his death.
Michael will be replaced by Centamin chairman Josef El-Raghy.
Centamin Egypt Limited is a mineral exploration development and mining company listed on the TSX and the London Stock Exchange (LSE:CEY).
The company's flagship project, the Sukari Gold Mine, is in the eastern desert of Egypt about 25 kilometres from the Red Sea coast.
This year, the mine is expected to produce up to 210,000 ounces of gold at a cash cost of about US$550 per ounce.
