CHESTER, W.Va. (AP) — MTR Gaming Group Inc. has named Joe Billhimer its chief operating officer and executive vice president, while Fred Buro is the West Virginia gambling company's new vice president and chief marketing officer.
Billhimer has been general manager of Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester since April.
Buro has been general manager at Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, Pa., since 2009.
Both men took their new posts last week. MTR said Monday they will continue with their old responsibilities, too, until replacements at the casinos are hired.
Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Dahl says MTR is structuring itself to to take advantage of favorable developments such as Internet gaming and the 2012 opening of a video lottery facility at Scioto Downs in Columbus, Ohio.
