AAA reports Oklahoma gas prices rising

By AP  | February 01, 2012

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — AAA Oklahoma says the average price for a gallon of gasoline is rising in the state.

The organization said Tuesday that the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gas is $3.18 per gallon — an increase of 13 cents per gallon in the past month.

AAA Oklahoma spokesman Chuck Mai (MAY) said the increase is due to the expected shutdown of refineries in the U.S. and Europe due to production cuts resulting from a decrease in demand for gas.

AAA said the average price in Oklahoma City is $3.19 per gallon while the average in Tulsa is nearly $3.12 per gallon.

The national average is $3.44 per gallon
