Principal Financial names Xerox executive to board

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Principal Financial Group Inc. says the chief financial officer of Xerox Corp. has joined its board of directors.

Luca Maestri's appointment was effective Wednesday.

Principal CEO Larry Zimpleman says Maestri's international and financial experience will help guide Principal's international expansion in global investment management and retirement services.

Maestri is responsible for finance, treasury, investor relations, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, tax and audit operations at Xerox. He joined the company as CFO in February 2011.

He previously held senior executive finance positions with Nokia Siemens Networks and General Motors.

The appointment increases the Principal board to 12 members until the May annual meeting, when board member Arjun Mathrani plans to retire returning the board back to 11.
