Digital First names senior VP for national sales

DENVER (AP) — Digital First Media has appointed Ray Chelstowski as senior vice president of national sales.

Digital First announced the appointment Tuesday. The company jointly manages MediaNews Group and The Journal Register Co.

Chelstowski will be responsible for national sales efforts for the company's more than 800 multimedia products. The company says it has a combined Sunday paid circulation of 3.1 million and 16.8 million online visitors.

Denver-based MediaNews owns more than 50 newspapers including The Post and The Salt Lake Tribune. The Journal Register Co. has 18 newspapers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Connecticut, Ohio, New Jersey and New York, and other publications and websites.

Previously, Chelstowski was publisher of Newsweek/Daily Beast. He will be based in New York.
