Corporate fraudsters: Middle-aged and mostly male

By Matthew McClearn  | February 16, 2012

Last year, KPMG compiled information on the frauds it investigated on behalf of clients. The sample consisted of nearly 350 cases across 69 countries involving misstated financial results, abuse of expenses, theft of cash and other transgressions. It then built a profile of the “typical fraudster.” He’s relatively young, holds a finance role in senior management, has been at your company longer than a decade and has accomplices. Oh, and there are warning signs. You should have seen it coming.
