PITTSBURGH (AP) — Bayer Corp. USA said Chief Executive Officer Greg Babe will retire at the end of June, after 36 years with the company.
The U.S. subsidiary of Germany's Bayer AG said in a statement Thursday that Babe, 54, joined the company in 1976 as the first-ever U.S. intern at its New Martinsville, W.Va., production facility.
He went on to hold numerous management positions, and has been president and CEO since 2008.
The company said it will announce succession plans as Babe's retirement approaches.
Babe also serves on the American Chemistry Council's Executive Committee and is the chair of the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce.
