By The Canadian Press  | February 22, 2012

CALGARY - EmberClear Corp. (TSXV:EMB), a junior energy technology company, reported a second quarter net loss, reversing a profit last year.

The Calgary company said Wednesday it lost nearly $1.7 million for the three months ended Dec. 31, the second quarter of its 2012 fiscal year.

That compared with a net profit of just under $7 million for the same period a year earlier.

For the six months, EmberClear's net loss widened to nearly $4 million, compared with a $5.9 million profit a year earlier.

EmberClear is an investment company focused on developing carbon-capture and other pollution-reducing technologies for fossil fuels.
