Talisman and Mitsubishi are looking at exporting liquefied natural gas from Papua New Guinea under a joint venture deal, worth US$280 million, announced Wednesday — the Japanese company's second move in a week to secure gas assets from a Canadian producer.
Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up 23 cents, or 1.34 per cent, at $17.36 on 3,972,374 shares. The gold miner said Wednesday that it will increase its quarterly dividend by 10 per cent to 5.5 cents per share.
Cascades Inc. (TSX:CAS). Shipping materials. Down one cent, or 0.22 per cent, at $4.44 on 52,301 shares. The company announced the closure of a packaging plant in Toronto in June, cutting 36 jobs as work is shifted to other plants. Cascades Enviropac specialized in the manufacturing of honeycomb packaging used in packing furniture.
