Infographic: How the rest of the world surfs the Internet

By Trevor Melanson  | January 13, 2012

Internet Explorer may be the staple of North American IT departments, grandparents and the not-so computer savvy, but its (dwindling) dominance isn’t universal. The graphic above reflects stats pulled from StatCounter in December 2011 that show Firefox, Chrome and even Opera reigning supreme in other countries. There’s more to this story, though: Firefox and especially Internet Explorer are falling hard in popularity, while Chrome’s steep upward trajectory could make it the world’s leading browser within a year (take a look)—no doubt another huge win for Google.
