Nokia's latest effort won't exactly put the Finnish phone maker back on the map but certainly does encourage creative folks to play with its wares. The Nokia Shorts 2011 contest saw the company, along with partners such as Vimeo and Vice, challenge users to create short films with its N8 phone and a maximum budget of $5000. The jury included Nokia vice-president of marketing creation Steven Overman, R/GA CEO and global chief creative officer Robert Greenberg, Vimeo creative director Jeremy Boxer and filmmaker Jalmari Helander. Finalists' efforts premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival, with the winner (above) also getting $10,000. Not too shabby.
