FORT ERIE, Ont. – Airbus Helicopters Canada said Tuesday it is adding a new production line at its Ontario production plant and creating about 40 new jobs.
The factory will make engine cowlings for the EC225 helicopter for its parent company, Airbus Helicopters, a division of Airbus Group.
The Fort Erie facility designs, develops and produces composite components including aircraft doors, cargo pods, heating systems, cowlings, boarding steps and stabilizers.
The Ontario factory employs 235 workers including manufacturing and helicopter maintenance jobs as well as test pilots and head office staff.
In addition to the Ontario facility, Airbus Helicopters Canada, formerly Eurocopter Canada, has operations in Richmond, B.C. and Montreal.
