TORONTO – The chief investment strategist of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is leaving to take a job at hedge fund manager Alignvest Management Corp.
Donald Raymond, who joined CPPIB in 2001, has resigned from his position effective March 31, the board said Wednesday.
He will become a managing partner and chief investment officer at Alignvest, effective April 1.
Raymond was responsible for overall investment strategy at CPPIB and headed the investment planning committee.
CPPIB, one of the world’s largest pension funds, invests money not needed by the Canada Pension Plan to pay benefits.
