TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,372.45 down 102.12 points):

Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Up 20 cents, or 2.76 per cent, to $7.44 on 6.2 million shares.

Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Up 46 cents, or 6.45 per cent, to $7.59 on 5.9 million shares.

Surge Energy Inc. (TSX:SGY). Oil and gas. Up five cents, or 0.79 per cent, to $6.34 on 5.2 million shares.

Whitecap Resources Inc. (TSX:WCP). Oil and gas. Up 35 cents, or 2.81 per cent, to $12.82 on 4.8 million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up 13 cents, or 4.26 per cent, to $3.18 on 4.4 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (998.79 up 1.82 points):

Tweed Marijuana Inc. (TSXV:TWD). Agriculture. Up 33 cents, or 9.12 per cent, to $3.95 on 5.8 million shares.

Ecuador Gold and Copper Corp. (TSXV:EGX). Miner. Up 1.5 cents, or 23.08 per cent, to eight cents on 4.6 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Bank of Nova Scotia. (TSX:BNS). Bank. Up 23 cents, or 0.36 per cent, to $64.89 on 1.6 million shares. Scotiabank says its key focus this year will be increasing its presence in Latin America and growing its customer base. CEO Brian Porter, addressing the bank’s annual meeting of shareholders for the first time since taking over as chief executive from Rick Waugh in November, said Scotiabank wants to sharpen its focus on its chosen markets of Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Chile.

SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. (TSX:SNC). Engineering. Down 18 cents, or 0.37 per cent, to $48.07 on 197,460 shares. SNC-Lavalin’s top executive received total compensation worth about $5.6 million last year, according to a regulatory filing ahead of the engineering and construction company’s annual meeting in May. Robert Card, SNC’s president and chief executive, received a base salary of $934,622 in 2013 as well as $1.9 million in share-based awards, $1.98 million in stock options, a $576,500 bonus and $216,895 in other compensation.
