Companies reporting major news:
Resolute Forest Products Inc. (TSX:RFP). Up 18 cents, or 1.10 per cent, to $16.54 on 4,345 shares. The company was called upon at its annual meeting Friday to defend its decision to sue the group it contracted to conduct audits of its forestry operations in Northern Ontario. CEO Richard Garneau told shareholders that Resolute took the unusual step of suing Rainforest Alliance and obtaining a court order to seal a damning audit because it contains what the company describes as biased interpretations, errors and omissions…and a clear conflict of interest.
