By 2020, about 20% of Canadians will be over age 65, which means jobs in health-care management—a variety of positions ranging from research lab managers to nursing-home administrators. There’s tremendous demand for Registered Nurses in the job market—and they aren’t going to manage themselves. This class of medical mandarins are the ones who coordinate all these crucial activities. While they’re not manning the bunsen burners themselves, most laboratory managers have a degree in science and subsequent training at a college, university or technical institute. Business management degrees are becoming increasingly valued, so consider an MBA or other certification.
