Her approach encourages corporations and governments to prioritize user privacy and embed it alongside normal business practices, contending it’s possible to hold privacy sacrosanct and make a profit. Companies such as GE and Intel follow her privacy-by-design approach. With the Internet of Things about to unleash a host of connected devices capturing reams of personal data, Cavoukian will help ensure companies handle that data with care.
