Utilities companies shares up at the close of trading

NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of some top utilities companies were up at the close of trading:

AEP rose $.18 or .6 percent, to $30.75.

ConEd rose $.07 or .2 percent, to $40.95.

Duke Energy rose $.08 or .5 percent, to $15.80.

Pepco Holdings rose $.11 or .7 percent, to $15.01.

Southern Co rose $.20 or .6 percent, to $31.19.
