Agriculture futures jump on Chicago BOT; Beef prices slip while pork futures rise

CHICAGO (AP) - Agriculture futures rose Wednesday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery climbed 11.5 cents to $5.345 a bushel; December corn gained 5.75 cents to $4.0025 a bushel; January soybeans added 12 cents to $9.80 a bushel; and oats for December delivery jumped 6.75 cents to $2.705 a bushel.

In other trading, beef prices dropped while pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle slipped 0.13 cent to 84.47 cents a pound; January feeder cattle fell 0.50 cent to 94.22 cents a pound; December lean hogs added 0.58 cent to 56.20 cents a pound; and February pork bellies gained 2.23 cents to 86.60 cents a pound.
