Toronto Stock Exchange (11,071.20 up 45.30 points):
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 73 cents, or 3.77 per cent, to $20.09 on 17,960,574 shares. The metals and mining subgroup closed 2.75 per cent higher to lead all advancers on the TSX as the December bullion contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange finished up US$2.40 at $1,087.30, another record high.
Nord Resources Corp. (TSX:NRD). Miner. Up half a cent, or 10 per cent, to 55 cents on 10,882,250 shares. The copper miner's stock regained some of its losses after plunging for two consecutive days on news the TSX had given it 120 days to meet listing requirements.
Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up half a cent, or 0.40 per cent, to $12.59 on 10,598,936 shares.
Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Up 18 cents, or 0.51 per cent, to $35.41 on 7,691,877 shares. The oilsands giant's shares were up as the near-month contract for oil on the Nymex closed 80 cents higher at US$80.40, not far off its yearly high of US$81.37 achieved two weeks ago.
Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD). Miner. Up four cents, or 0.31 per cent, to $13.01 on 7,063,283 shares. Shares steadily climbed after the Vancouver company reported earlier this week its Efemcukuru project in Turkey "continues to improve in quality."
Centamin Egypt Ltd. (TSX:CEE). Miner. Up 12 cents, or 5.36 per cent, to $2.36 on 7,009,909 shares.
TSX Venture Exchange (1,331.35 up 4.60 points):
WesternZagros Resources Ltd. (TSXV:WZR). Oil and gas. Down 61 cents, or 45.52 per cent, to 73 cents on 26,896,785 shares.
Allana Resources Inc. (TSXV:AAA). Down 3.5 cents, or 10.61 per cent, to 29.5 cents on 8,776,791 shares.
