A retirement arrangement that allows a taxpayer to rollover a RRSP at the point when the RRSP must be collapsed. The funds can be withdrawn in future years to provide retirement income. A minimum withdrawal is required each year based on the balance of the fund at the time of the rollover. The balance of the fund and any extra income that accumulates remain tax-free until they are withdrawn.

Types of RRIFs: · GT = guaranteed term    · LD = long term deposit

The chart shows comparable but not identical RRIF products. It is based on a deposit of $50,000 with income paid annually.
