McGill University/HEC Montréal MBA Program

This bilingual program is not structured around functional courses, but based on management guru Henry Mintzberg’s Mindsets of a Manager concept. The opening module, for example, is the Reflective Mindset, which focuses on managing the self. In the managerial exchange module, MBA candidates shadow one another on-the-job to gain exposure to different industries. Students also participate in an in-depth personal coaching session, followed by workshops with the rest of the class. Before formal instruction begin each morning, students spend 20 minutes writing in their journals, 20 minutes in small group discussions, and another 20 in plenary. Classes are held Thursday to Sunday once a month as well as in two residential stints of seven and 10 days, the latter of which is held in Latin America or Asia. The program begins in September.
