Saint Mary's University MBA Program

Sobey recently redesigned its MBA, with the first cohort entering in September 2016. The new program spends the first half on foundation courses, then focuses on what Sobey calls “immersive” experiences in three areas: community-based service-learning, often working with local companies and non-profits; international and intercultural immersion, which includes a trip abroad to understand the dynamics of global business; and entrepreneurship and innovation, a series of workshops designed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset. Last year Sobey introduced its own venture capital fund in collaboration with Nova Scotia VC firm Innovacorp. This year was the 40th anniversary of Sobey’s first class of MBAs, so an extensive network of alumni await new grads. All students, whether completing the full-time 16-month program or the 36-month part-time program, begin in September.
