Nova Scotia’s capital had respectable rankings in almost every category we measured, with its strongest point being doctors per capita, for which it ranked sixth. And even with its notorious fog and treacherous snow days, the port city’s pleasant summers helped it rank in the top half in terms of weather. One concern is a crime rate that placed in the bottom third of the category; violent crime in particular has been a problem.
