Big year for B.C.

Well, it’s been quite a year for B.C. oil and gas rights sales.
July’s record-breaking sale of more than $610 million in bonus bids boosted the total garnered by B.C. this fiscal year to $1.3 billion. In comparison, last fiscal year the province raised $1.2 billion selling the potentially lucrative leases and licences.
The total was upped again in mid-August to $1.8 billion. Given that the province’s fiscal year ends March 31, there is plenty of time to make this a multi-billion year for oil and gas rights sales in B.C.
The next sale is scheduled for Sept. 10, at which 105 parcels that cover 92,973 hectares of land will be offered.
