We all have a pretty good idea of what it takes to be an Olympic athlete. Not in a we’ve-all-dedicated-our-lives-to-reach-the-pinnacle-of-sport kind of way, just that during the course of any Winter or Summer Games we’ve seen enough featurettes, magazine articles and interviews to get an idea about the sort of sacrifice and physical toll is required to get even within reach of a podium.
This ad for the Canadian Paralympic Committee‘s “Unstoppable” campaign by BBDO Toronto and director Mark Zibert shows the journey often taken to be a paralympian. Shot on a rainy night in Toronto with short-distance runner and Canadian paralympian Alister McQueen, the spot was done in one take with no special effects. As impressive as that is, really it’s the sense of determination and accomplishment conveyed that really makes it so powerful.
