MONTREAL – Bell Media said Tuesday it has signed a deal to sell French television channels MusiquePlus and MusiMax to Quebec company V Media Group, owner of V Interactions.
Financial terms of the deal, which will require approval by the CRTC, were not immediately available.
The agreement is the last sale Bell needed to reach to comply with regulatory conditions attached to its acquisition of Astral Media.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission is also requiring Bell to spend $246.9 million on “tangible benefits” such as initiatives meant to create more Canadian programming.
V Media Group owns and operates V, a French-language conventional broadcaster.
Bell Media (TSX:BCE) owns 30 local television stations as well as 34 specialty channels, four pay television services and more than 100 radio stations across Canada.
