Bombardier Transport has locomotive deal with Munich-based Railpool

MONTREAL – Bombardier Transportation (TSX:BBD.B) has signed an agreement with Munich-based Railpool for up to 65 of the company’s Traxx locomotives.

The total potential contract value is up to US$340 million.

The deal with the leasing company includes a firm order for 35 locomotives and an option of up to 30 more.

Bombardier will assemble the locomotives in Germany.

Railpool, owned by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, is one of the leading leasing companies for trains in Europe.
