CAE signs contracts to sell five full flight simulators to various customers

MONTREAL – CAE Inc. (TSX:CAE) says it has signed contracts to sell five full flight simulators, other devices and related services with a total list price $90 million.

The buyers are five different customers in several countries, including the Sky Wings aviation training organization in Russia and the Zhuhai Flight Training Centre in China.

Montreal-based CAE says Sky Wings has ordered a flight simulator for the Bombardier CRJ200 regional jet, for uses in a Moscow training centre that’s currently under construction.

It says Zhuhai has ordered a simulator for the new Boeing B787 passenger jet, also known as the Dreamliner.

The Zhuhai flight training centre is a joint venture of CAE and China Southern Airlines.

The other contracts are for one Global Vision simulator to Emirates-CAE Flight Training in Dubai, one B787 simulator to an undisclosed customer in North America, and one helicopter full-flight simulator to another undisclosed customer.

The contracts brings CAE’s tally for the 2014 financial year, which ends March 31, to 38 full flight simulators.
