TORONTO – The Canadian dollar closed at 101.97 cents U-S, down 22-100ths from Tuesday’s close.
The S-and-P/T-S-X composite index lost 61.15 points to 12,212.42.
Volume at 4:20 p.m. ET was 272.2 (m) million shares, valued at 3.51 (b) billion dollars.
In New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 128.56 points to 13,344.97.
The Nasdaq composite index slipped 13.24 points to 3,051.78.
The New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures price for December rose 10 cents U-S to 1,765 dollars, 10 cents an ounce.
The crude contract for November slipped one dollar, 14 cents U-S to 91 dollars, 25 cents per barrel.
