NEW YORK, N.Y. – Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:


J.C. Penney Co. Inc., up 33 cents to $8.29

Standard & Poor’s Ratings Service removed its negative outlook on the retailer’s credit rating, citing the stabilization of its business.

RadioShack Corp., down 47 cents to $2.25

After a bigger-than-expected quarterly loss, the electronics retailer said that it would close up to 1,100 stores in the U.S.

Trina Solar Ltd., up $1.63 to $16.38

The solar panel maker sees demand in the Middle East and Asia rising by as much as 47 per cent this year with prices stabilizing.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co., up $2.61 to $41.68

Credit Suisse upgraded the teen retailer, saying that it is attending to structural changes in the industry with its online push.

Delta Air Lines Inc., up $1.86 to $34.45

Domestic demand and more flights over the Atlantic drove a key measure of the carrier’s revenue higher in February.


Gentiva Health Services Inc., down $1.09 to $9.74

The community care and hospice services company said that it closed 46 branches during the fourth quarter and consolidated 31.

WebMD Health Corp., down 65 cents to $43.98

Stifel Nicolaus stripped the health information website of its “Buy” rating, saying there may be weaker advertising revenue ahead.

Ascena Retail Group Inc., down 61 cents to $18.26

Industry analysts are optimistic about attempts by the retailer to rejuvenate sales, but believe that it could take some time.
