Grain lower, livestock higher

CHICAGO – Grain futures were lower in early trading Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery lost 5.50 cents to $4.8240 a bushel; December corn was 5 cents lower at $3.81 a bushel; December oats were 5.50 cents lower at 2.2820 a bushel; while November soybeans lost 4.25 cents to 8.83 a bushel.

Beef higher and pork was higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle was .05 cent higher at $1.3953 a pound; October feeder cattle was .43 cents higher at $1.8888 a pound; December lean hogs gained 1.95 cents to $.6403 a pound.
