The food distributor delivered stronger results than analysts expected in its fiscal third quarter.

GNC Holdings Inc., up $1.66 to $26.02

The nutritional supplement company said it started a strategic review and will consider a possible sale.

Helmerich & Payne Inc., down $3.07 to $63.05

The oil and gas well-drilling contractor disclosed a larger adjusted quarterly loss than analysts had expected.

Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc., up 28 cents to $24.54

The offshore oil and gas drilling contractor reported strong quarterly results.


Baidu Inc., down $15.39 to $178.91

China’s Internet regulator is investigating the search engine over its medical advertisements.

Apollo Education Group Inc., up 97 cents to $8.77

A group of investors raised their offer for the University of Phoenix parent to $10 per share, or $1.1 billion.

Brocade Communications Systems Inc., down $1.10 to $8.51

The network services company said quarterly sales will fall far short of its estimates because of weak spending on information technology.
