Mitel Networks buys supplier PrairieFyre Software for $20 million

OTTAWA – Cloud-based technology company Mitel Networks Corp. (TSX:MNW) has acquired PrairieFyre Software Inc., one of its suppliers, for $20 million.

Mitel says it expects the deal to be accretive to earnings in the first year, and that it will strengthen its position in the growing contact center industry.

PrairieFyre supplied Mitel with its current contact center solution.

Mitel says contact centers have become an important revenue engine for many organizations by building and maintaining customer loyalty.

“The challenging economic climate during the last few years has dramatically heightened the need for business solutions that drive hard (return on investment) and strengthen customer interaction,” said Richard McBee, president and CEO of Mitel, in a statement.

“The integration of PrairieFyre into Mitel at this point in the market gives both organizations the scale and skills to more effectively meet this demand, and grow our contact center business.”
