Companies reporting major news:
TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Up 68 cents, or 1.26 per cent, to $54.44 on 1.1 million shares. Calgary-based TRP called off plans to build a marine terminal at Cacouna, Que., as part of its Energy East pipeline project, while also pushing back the project’s expected completion date by nearly two years. It decided to relocate the terminal in part because of concern for beluga whales near the site, which was to include storage tanks and a marine port for loading oil on ships.
