Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,732.61 down 17.91 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Plane and train maker. Up 11 cents, or 2.32 per cent, at $4.85 on 7.93 million shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up 15 cents, or 6.61 per cent, at $2.42 on 6.83 million shares. The gold sector led all advancers on the main index, rising 3.72 per cent to 195.60 points as bullion advanced $12.40 to US$1,391.30 per ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurer. Up 37 cents, or 2.28 per cent, at $16.59 on 5.94 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 20 cents, or 3.42 per cent, at $6.05 on 5.28 million shares.

Premier Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:PG). Miner. Up 11 cents, or 6.01 per cent, at $1.94 on 4.48 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (953.71 down 0.70 of a point):

Pinecrest Energy Inc. (TSXV:PRY). Oil and gas. Down a penny, or 1.47 per cent, at 67 cents on 9.67 million shares.

Seafield Resources Ltd. (TSXV:SFF). Gold explorer. Up 1.5 cents, or 25 per cent, at 7.5 cents on 5.26 million shares. Stock in the Toronto-based company continued to rise a day after it announced a new discovery of gold-copper prophyry mineralization at its project in Colombia.

Companies reporting major news:

BMO Financial Group (TSX:BMO). Bank. Down $1.20, or 1.88 per cent, at $62.50 on 3.17 million shares. BMO missed analysts estimates on earnings as it reported second-quarter profit of $975 million or $1.42 per share, down from $1.03 billion or $1.51 per share a year ago. Revenue was flat at $3.94 billion compared with $3.96 billion in the prior-year quarter.

BRP Inc. (TSX:DOO). Personal recreation vehicles. 296,133 shares. The maker of Ski-Doo snowmobile and Sea-Doo personal watercraft, started trading publicly for the first time Wednesday closing at $25, up from its initial public offering price of $21.50.
