Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Wireless technology. Up 50 cents, or 2.89 per cent, at $17.80 on 17,193,911 shares. PC maker Lenovo Group is reported to be looking at potential acquisition targets and strategic alliances, including with RIM, which is unveiling its new BlackBerry 10 operating system and smartphones next week.
Cline Mining Corp. (TSX:CMK). Miner. Up seven cents, or 77.78 per cent, at 16 cents on 12,885,824 shares. The troubled company said earlier in the week that it has retained GMP Securities L.P. as its exclusive financial adviser in exploring and evaluating strategic alternatives.
Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down four cents, or 0.97 per cent, at $4.09 on 6,491,363 shares.
Iamgold Corp. (TSX:IMG). Miner. Down 41 cents, or 4.45 per cent, at $8.81 on 4,271,672 shares. The Toronto gold miner’s stock closed at its lowest level since early 2009 a day after announcing it has reduced exploration activity in Mali due to unrest in the west African country.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 48 cents, or 5.06 per cent, at $9 on 4,266,721 shares. The gold sector was the leading decliner, dropping 7.59 points or 2.58 per cent, to 286.91 points.
Baja Mining Corp. (TSX:BAJ). Miner. Down half a cent, or five per cent, at 9.5 cents on 4,040,527 shares.
TSX Venture Exchange (1,229.46 down 12.07 points):
Atikwa Resources Inc. (TSXV:ATK). Oil and gas explorer. Down a penny, or 50 per cent, at one cent on 16,021,637 shares.
Med BioGene Inc. (TSXV:MBI). Life sciences. Up three cents, or 60 per cent, at eight cents on 5,896,409 shares.

Agrium Inc. (TSX:AGU). Fertilizer. Up $3.25, or 2.94 per cent, at $113.90 on 857,845 shares. The fertilizer producer raised its fourth-quarter earnings guidance to $2 from between $1.50 and $1.90 per diluted share. Agrium citied record-high adjusted earnings at its North American retail division and better than expected results at its wholesale fertilizer division for the hike.
Major Drilling Group International Inc. (TSX:MDI). Contract drilling. Down $1.83, or 15.25 per cent, at $10.17 on 1,542,972 shares. The company’s stock traded as low as $9.76 a day after warning that its fourth-quarter revenue will be lower than expected.
Primaris Retail Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:PMZ.UN). Commercial real estate. Up 37 cents, or 1.38 per cent, at $27.27 on 3,974,125 shares. A group led by KingSett Capital says it will continue to build its stake in the shopping mall operator that it has been attempting to take over. H&R Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:HR.UN), which has topped the KingSett all-cash bid of $26 with a cash and share offer valued at $28, closed up 48 cents, or 2.04 per cent, at $23.98 on 969,449 shares.
