Nexen Inc. (TSX:NXY). Oil and gas. Up seven cents, or 0.27 per cent, at $26.42 on 18,668,952 shares. Nexen announced Monday that it is being acquired by China National Offshore Oil Co. (CNOOC) in a US$15-billion deal that, if successful, will be China’s largest ever overseas acquisition.
Yellow Media Inc. (TSX:YLO). Directory publisher. Down three cents, or 35.29 per cent, at 5.5 cents on 11,212,321 shares.
Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up three cents, or 0.25 per cent, at $11.83 on 7,029,366 shares.
CIC Energy Corp. (TSX:ELC). Oil and gas. Up 21 cents, or 13.38 per cent, at $1.78 on 5,736,979 shares.

Bombardier (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Down three cents, or 0.78 per cent, at $3.80 on 941,519 shares. Bombardier will supply 20 additional light rail vehicles to Manchester’s transit system in the United Kingdom.The option is part of the contract signed with Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive in 2007 and is valued at roughly US$51 million, with Bombardier’s share valued at about US$38 million.
Noranda Income Fund (TSX:NIF.UN). Zinc miner. Down 20 cents, or 4.21 per cent, at $4.55 on 62,636 shares. Norando’s CEO, Eva Carissimi, says that while zinc demand is expected to remain steady in the third quarter, a slowdown in the manufacturing sector could have longer-term negative effects.
