TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Up seven cents, or 0.15 per cent, at $45.27 on 840,127 shares. Mexican authorities have awarded the company a second contract in a week to build a natural gas pipeline.The Calgary-based company said Monday it will invest about US$400 million in a 413-kilometre pipeline between El Oro and Mazatlan, near Mexico’s west coast.
Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (TSX:PTQ). Miner. Unchanged at 64 cents on 2,715,050 shares. The chief executive of Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. is ready to work with Inmet Mining Corp. (down 21 cents at $55.90 on 707,322 shares), which has made a hostile takeover bid for his company, if shareholders turn down the offer.While confident shareholders would turn down the Inmet offer, Petaquilla chief executive Joao Manuel said Petaquilla was prepared for the possibility of Inmet acquiring a substantial stake in the company.
