FREDERICTON – NB Liquor is reporting increased sales and profits in the first quarter of this year.
The provincial Crown corporation is reporting sales of $98.5 million for the quarter ending June 29 — an increase of $2.2 million over the same quarter last year.
Net earnings were $42.2 million — 3.7 per cent higher than last year.
NB Liquor president Brian Harriman says while beer, spirit and wine sales all increased, the growing popularity of coolers exceeded expectations.
He says that category is reporting one of the strongest growths in Canada with a volume increase of 22.3 per cent compared to last year.
