Obama says his plan to combat climate change is making a difference, but more to be done

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama says his administration’s actions to combat climate change are making a difference.

But he says for the sake of America’s children, more must be done.

Obama is speaking to the League of Conservation Voters on the one-year anniversary of unveiling an ambitious climate change plan.

Obama says progress isn’t instantaneous, but many small pieces add up to major change. He says the U.S. must shape its climate change strategy to address the legitimate concerns of struggling working families who worry about costs.

Obama is ridiculing members of Congress who question climate change. He says they tell Americans that climate change is a hoax, a fad or a liberal plot. But he says they’re ducking the truth by saying they’re not scientists.
