Relations between Albuquerque visitors bureau, hotel group said to be improving

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau and a metro-area hotel group appear to be mending fences.

The Albuquerque Journal ( ) reports that tensions between the bureau and the Greater Albuquerque Innkeepers Association appear to have eased since the hotel group expressed “no confidence” in the top bureau executives.

The hotel group’s board said Thursday it is working co-operatively with the bureau, and the two groups issued a statement saying their representatives had met and aired their concerns.

The statement also said the groups are now committed to working together.

The hotel group’s board had sent the bureau a letter in February that said in part that some top bureau executives had been heard expressing negative attitudes toward the Albuquerque market.
