Ruby Tuesday and Concordia skid; Nordstrom and Sunrun surge

Nordstrom Inc., up $3.82 to $51.38

The department store chain said its anniversary sale results were strong, and it raised its annual profit forecast.

Ruby Tuesday Inc., down 49 cents to $3.24

The restaurant chain reported weak sales and said it will close 95 stores by September.

J.C. Penney Co., up 61 cents to $10.55

The department store operator took a smaller second-quarter loss thanks to a boost from appliance and beauty sales.

Concordia International Corp., down $6.23 to $10.13

The drugmaker continued to tumble after it reported disappointing sales, cut its annual forecasts and suspended its dividend.

Silicon Graphics Inc., up $1.71 to $7.69

Hewlett Packard Enterprise agreed to buy the computer equipment and services company for $7.75 per share, or about $281 million.

Dillard’s Inc., up $2.26 to $68.67

The retailer’s stock continued a recent recovery after it posted a second-quarter profit that was larger than analysts expected.

Planet Fitness Inc., up $2.03 to $22.36

The fitness centre company raised its profit and revenue projections after a strong second-quarter report.

Sunrun Inc., up 82 cents to $6.23

The company said it installed more solar panels than it expected in the second quarter.
