TORONTO – The award-winning Toronto weekly The Grid is shutting down after three years of publication.
The Star Media Group, which includes The Grid as well as the Toronto Star and Metroland papers, says the weekly didn’t generate enough revenue despite having a strong and loyal following.
The paper has won several awards over the years, including National Magazine Awards, and been recognized by the Society for News Design.
The Grid says Thursday’s issue will be its last.
The paper made the announcement on Twitter, thanking its staff and readers for their support.
