Weight Watchers and Kraft climb, L Brands and Fitbit skid

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq stock market:


Weight Watchers International Inc., up 36 cents to $12.88

The weight-loss program company raised its forecasts for the year.

Fitbit Inc., down $3.22 to $13.88

The maker of fitness trackers posted strong results but said it will spend more money on research and development and sales.

L Brands Inc., down $9.65 to $70.53

The parent of Victoria’s Secret reported sales in April that were far weaker than analysts expected.

McKesson Corp., up $7.69 to $172.70

The prescription drug distributor reported better-than-expected sales and forecast solid earnings in the current fiscal year.


Tesla Motors. Inc., down $11.03 to $211.53

The electric car maker reported a bigger quarterly loss as it struggled with parts delays for its new Model X SUV.

Kraft Heinz Co., up $2.99 to $82.97

The food and beverage giant posted strong results and it said it’s saving more money than expected after Kraft and Heinz combined.

TripAdvisor Inc., down $1.09 to $62.04

The travel website operator’s profit and sales were weaker than expected.

Whole Foods Market Inc., up $1.70 to $30.21

The supermarket operator cut its annual guidance, but said it thinks sales trends will get better.
