How Lush Cosmetics prepares for the holiday rush

The busiest shopping season of the year is even more demanding for a company that makes everything by hand

Lush Cosmetics, which sells handmade soap, makeup and other beauty products, faces a challenge each fall: rushing to churn out tens of thousands of individual units across hundreds of product lines for the holiday shopping season—each of which must be made by hand. To do it, the company must triple its staff and run 24 hours a day. We visited Lush Canada’s plant to see how the company prepares for the busiest part of its year.
