IBM is pioneering what it calls “cognitive cooking,” in which its supercomputer Watson (of Jeopardy! fame) uses artificial intelligence to come up with new and novel recipes. Recently IBM decided to take on a classic Canadian staple: poutine. Here’s how a computer that’s never tasted anything comes up with new flavour combinations.
