After spending the past few years packing stadiums with screaming teenage girls, Justin Bieber apparently is now looking to diversify his portfolio and add venture capitalist to his resumé. At least that’s what observers deduced when the Biebs recently posted a video of himself playing a game of three-on-three with NBA star Steve Nash and Mike Duda, the duo behind Consigliere, a New York City–based venture capital and marketing firm. The teen sensation hasn’t announced any deals, although he did pull a nifty crossover on Nash. But other celebrities already have some skin in the tech startup game. Here, we’ve plotted the relative involvement of certain stars in the tech world, from dabblers to moguls. We’ve also ranked their relative success. Taken together, these allow one to tell which celebrities are financial wizards and which are failing hobbyists.
